Special Touch

Meet Sheldon — the hands behind the practice.

For more than twenty years, Sheldon has been Milwaukee's quiet go-to for the kind of massage you remember a week later — the kind where your shoulders finally drop, your jaw unclenches, and you leave taller than you came in.

Special Touch is a one-therapist practice on purpose. No turnover, no rotating staff, no rushed swaps between rooms. Just Sheldon — the same trained hands every visit, learning your body over time the way a good doctor learns a patient.

The Philosophy

Slow down the room. Then do the work.

Care that's personal

Every appointment starts with a conversation — not a clipboard. Sheldon tunes pressure, oils, and pacing to the body in front of him.

Two decades, one craft

20+ years of refining a single practice — therapeutic massage, hot stone, herbal wraps, and facials — for repeat Milwaukee clients.

A room for everyone

Black-owned and proudly LGBTQ+ affirming. Couples, ladies' nights, wedding parties, first-timers — all welcome, all met where they are.

Clinically informed

Years of collaboration with chiropractic care practices have shaped a well-rounded, therapeutic perspective to every session.

University partner

Wellness workshops for professors and staff — breathing, meditation, aromatherapy, and chair massage to support real, working balance.

Set the room

Hot towels, warm candlelight, and softly chosen music. Every session begins by quieting the space around you.

In His Words

"Every body tells you what it needs — you just have to listen."

Sheldon trained as a licensed massage therapist through a formal apprenticeship — learning the craft hands-on under experienced mentors before ever opening his own table — and built Special Touch around one stubborn idea: that a great massage is a conversation between trained hands and a tired body, not a script.

Twenty years on, that approach has earned him a deeply loyal clientele that quietly includes professional athletes, touring entertainers, and on-camera talent — alongside the neighbors, newlyweds, and tired-week regulars who keep coming back. His work has always lived next door to clinical care: years of collaboration with chiropractic practices have shaped a well-rounded, therapeutic perspective, equally at ease addressing chronic pain, recovery, and pure restorative rest.

Sheldon has also partnered with a local university to lead wellness workshops for professors and staff — guiding sessions on breathing, meditation, aromatherapy, and chair massage to help busy faculty reset and find balance. That same intention shapes every appointment at the studio: hot towels, warm candlelight, and softly chosen music turn the room into something gentler than a clinic and quieter than a spa.

No two sessions here look exactly the same. Pressure shifts. Stones come out when the cold week earned them. Herbal wraps appear when skin's been begging for botanicals. Facials get customized down to the fragrance. The mission is simple and unwavering — individualized, personalized, and customized care.

It's also why this is a Black-owned, LGBTQ+ affirming practice on purpose. Everyone deserves a room where they can finally exhale — and Sheldon has built exactly that, one Milwaukee neighbor at a time, for more than twenty years.
